Tournaments

The Pacific Pinball Expo offers five different tournaments to choose from, hosted by Keith Elwin, current World Pinball Champion!

  • Each ticket is good for 2 plays in the tournament (except Bingo).
  • Enter anytime, as many times as you want, until the finals.
  • Best top 3 scores on each machine go into the finals.
  • Additional prizes from Professional/Amateur Pinball Association (PAPA) will be awarded.
  1. Singles - "A" Division - Qualifiying begins on Friday October 3 at 12 noon and ends on Saturday at 7pm. Finals take place on Sunday at 11am.

    Ticket price: $6, or $10 for 2.

    Prizes:

    • 1st Prize - Eight Ball pinball machine!
    • 2nd Prize - 25% of fees collected
    • 3rd Prize - 15% of fees collected
  2. Singles - Novice Division - Qualifiying begins on Friday October 3 at 12 noon and ends on Saturday at 7pm. Finals take place on Sunday at 11:30am.

    Ticket price: $3, or $5 for 2.

    Prizes:

    • 1st Prize - 40% of fees collected
    • 2nd Prize - 20% of fees collected
    • 3rd Prize - 10% of fees collected
  3. Singles - Kids Division - Qualifying begins on Friday October 3 at 12 noon and ends on Saturday at 7pm. Finals take place on Sunday at 11:30am.

    Ticket price: $3, or $5 for 2.

    Prizes:

    • 1st Prize - 10 Lucky JuJu Admission Tokens ($100 value!)
    • 2nd Prize - T-shirt
    • 3rd Prize - Poster
  4. Split Flipper Doubles - You and your partner each take a flipper and go for the best score! Qualifying begins on Friday October 3 at 12 noon and ends on Saturday at 7pm. Finals at 8pm Saturday.

    Ticket price: $6/team or $10 for 2 teams.

    Prizes:

    • 1st Prize - 50% of fees collected
    • 2nd Prize - 25% of fees collected
  5. Doubles Pinball Fun Bingo - You and your partner play individually and complete goals to fill in squares in a bingo card. Capped at first 10 couples, so sign up early! Starts at 2pm Saturday October 4. No qualifying necessary.

    Ticket price: $10/team.

    Prizes:

    • 1st Prize - 50% of fees collected
    • 2nd Prize - 25% of fees collected

Guest Speakers

Saturday and Sunday, October 4th and 5th, will feature an impressive array of pinball luminaries, on-hand to discuss repair tips (Clay Harrell (Shaggy, from This Old Pinball) and Chris Kuntz), pinball art projects (William Wiley, Wade Krause, and Jim Dietrick, creators of the Punball art-pinball), and the future of the Pacific Pinball Museum (Lucky JuJu owner Michael Schiess)!

Contest for "Best" machines

Bring your lovingly resurrected EM pinball machine and show off your restoration ability. Contests for "Best Restored", "Best Modified", and "Most Original" games will be held with prizes and praise for the winners! Besides bragging rights, the winner will receive an engraved lucite desk trophy.

Auction

During the Expo several pinball machines will be either raffled off or put into a silent auction. Those games are Cinema, Sky Jump, and Spin Out.

Clinics

"How To" Clinics on everything from buying, set up and maintaining your first pinball, troubleshooting tips, to playing techniques, to cabinet restoration! Electro Mechanical and Solid State repair, Fun and informative sessions for players and techies of all ages and experience levels!

Pinball Trivia Game

Think you know pinball history? Think you can name that game in "2 features"? Then come and compete in our "History of Pinball Trivia Game", 6:30pm Saturday!

Velvet Rope Area

PPE is compiling a collection of very rare antique games for a special "Velvet Rope" playing area. These games will be available to play for a small additional fee. These are games that are very rarely seen in playing condition, if at all. If you have any intriguing antique coin op games that you would like to include in this part of the exhibition…please contact

Historical Exhibit

There will be a display of games from Richard Conger's Silverball Ranch chronicling the evolution of pinball from the turn of the century to the dawn of the flipper era. These games will not be available to be played, but will offer an insight into the development of the game we have come to know and love.

The Physics and Science of Pinball

This is an exhibit group that introduces visitors to some of the concepts and mechanisms of pinball. Its focus is electricity, magnetism and physics. Following are descriptions of some of the exhibits and what they demonstrate. Details...
